Can I get permanent residence after studying?
Not directly from a student visa anywhere. The usual path is study, then a post-study work visa, then an employer-sponsored or points-based work visa, then residence after a qualifying period. Canada and Australia have the clearest routes; the UK requires five years on qualifying visas.
