Artificial Intelligence courses for international students

Artificial intelligence has moved from a research niche to the most in-demand specialism in computing. Master's programmes in AI and machine learning are now standard at good universities, and graduates are hired before they finish.

What a artificial intelligence degree involves

AI degrees cover machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, robotics, data engineering and the ethics of automated systems. Most are master's programmes built on a computing or mathematical bachelor's; a growing number of undergraduate degrees exist too.

Why study artificial intelligence abroad

  • Fastest-growing hiring category in tech
  • Post-study visas favour AI and data roles
  • Research-active departments with industry partnerships
  • Strong scholarship and studentship funding
  • Skills apply across finance, health, retail and manufacturing

Scholarships and funding

Oasis does not award scholarships, but partner universities discount fees for strong applicants and several government schemes cover this subject. See the scholarship guide and our loan partners.

Fees and salaries are indicative for the 2026/27 cycle, change with exchange rates and policy, and should be confirmed with the university or the relevant government before you decide.

Questions

Artificial Intelligence: what students ask

Do I need a computer science degree for an AI master's?

Usually a computing, maths, engineering or physics background. Some universities offer AI conversion programmes for other graduates with strong quantitative skills.

How much maths is involved?

A lot: linear algebra, probability, statistics and calculus underpin machine learning. Universities expect this at admission.

AI or data science: which should I choose?

Data science is broader and more business-facing; AI is deeper in modelling and research. Both lead to strong jobs; your maths comfort should decide.

Are AI degrees eligible for STEM OPT in the US?

Yes, AI and machine learning programmes are STEM-designated, giving up to three years of OPT.
