Grenada is a one-university destination, and that university is a serious one: St. George's University trains doctors and vets who go on to residencies in the US, the UK and Canada. For students who want medicine but missed a home-country place, it offers a structured, well-supervised route with clinical years abroad. It is expensive and demanding, and we say so before anyone applies.

Cost

Tuition of US$30,000 to US$40,000 a term for the MD programme in clinical years. Medicine is a four-year programme after a bachelor's or a pre-medical track; total cost is comparable to a US private medical school. Living costs of US$1,300 to US$2,000 a month.

Entry requirements

A recognised bachelor's degree, usually at second-class honours or 55 to 65 percent depending on the university, English at IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, and a statement of purpose. Some programmes add work experience or a portfolio.
