What you study
Engineering covers mechanical, civil, electrical and electronic, chemical, aerospace, automotive, materials and biomedical disciplines, plus newer fields such as robotics and renewable energy. Bachelor's degrees take three to four years (MEng four to five), and one-year MSc programmes specialise.

Is a UK engineering degree recognised in India and elsewhere?
Yes. Accredited UK degrees are recognised under the Washington Accord, which covers India, Australia, Canada, the US and many more.
What is the difference between BEng and MEng?
BEng is a three-year bachelor's; MEng is an integrated four-year master's that meets the full requirement for chartered engineer status.
Do I need a portfolio or entrance exam?
No portfolio. Students from India, China and Vietnam need the APS certificate for a German visa, and some German programmes ask for TestAS; most others admit on grades.
Can I study engineering in English in Germany?
At master's level, yes, widely. Bachelor's programmes are mostly in German.
